The following placement and proficiency tests are administered by the Academic Dean’s Office, 222 DeRicci Hall, 663-2200.
Students must register for proficiency exams with the Academic Dean’s Office in 222 DeRicci or by phone, 663-2200. Registering indicates a commitment; students should cancel their registration if they are unable to sit for their exams. Some proficiency exams require a $50.00; students should call to see if the fee applies for the proficiency exam they wish to take. If the $50 exam fee applies for the proficiency tests, it should be paid before taking the test or on the day of the test. These exams are offered in Predolin 112 on the following dates:
*Please note these tests require that readings be picked up and prepared in advance. The readings and guidelines for all tests are available in the Academic Dean’s Office. Math Placement Testing The math placement test places students into the appropriate level of math from among MATH 98 Algebra Connections, MATH 101 Problem Solving, MATH 111 College Algebra and Trigonometry, MATH 112 Algebra, RMATH 123 Mathematical Models in Business I , RMATH 125 Mathematical Models in Business II, and MATH 231 Calculus I. To register for the test in person, or pick up a physical copy of the guidelines sheet, stop by or call the Student Resource Center, 206 DeRicci or 663-2281. The Math Placement Test will be offered on the following dates:
Math Placement Exam Guidelines English Proficiency Exam The English Proficiency Exam may be taken to “test out of” ENG 110, 110H and RENG 151. Students should get the guidelines from the Academic Dean’s Office, 222 DeRicci. Students are required to sit for an exam and submit a portfolio of writing.
