EDGE Creative Writing Grants Reminder!

Hi all,

Let Edgewood Student Research pay you to write poetry, fiction, or non-fiction this summer!

Just wanted to put out one more reminder about the new student writing grant through student research - aka the EDGE grants, which are new this year. Applications are due April 1st (BUT IT IS OK TO BE A LITTLE LATE ON THIS SINCE TODAY IS THE DAY: JUST LET ME KNOW IF YOU PLAN ON APPLYING AND NEED A COUPLE DAYS), with the intent to award 3-4 $300 prizes to student willing to spend the next six months writing an original piece of their choosing.

These grants are available to undergraduate students who...
  • Are willing to write and revise ~20 pages of poetry, fiction, or creative non-fiction
    • You may choose one to focus on
      • Poetry can be: any style, one longform piece or several shorter pieces
      • Fiction can be: one short story, multiple short stories, or one or two chapters from a novel-in-progress
      • Creative Non-Fiction can be: one larger piece, multiple shorter pieces, or a chapter from a creative non-fiction project-in-progress
      • We are open to other formats with appropriate justification and explanation
