Join a Community of Practice!

A “Community of Practice” is a small group of faculty and/or staff who meet regularly to discuss a book or topic of interest. This semester, we are pleased to offer two communities of practice. To sign up,  contact Rachael Lancor (rlancor@edgewood.edu) and she’ll be in touch to schedule the meeting times.

Scholarship of Teaching & Learning

Explore how you can do research on student learning in your classroom. SoTL is a great way to reflect on your teaching practice, create more effective learning environments for your students, and share your work with colleagues. In this workshop, you’ll design a SoTL research project to conduct in your classroom. This group will meet 3-4 times before Spring Break.

Mentoring at Edgewood

Mentoring relationships are important for both new and experienced faculty.  Join this group to explore how we can improve mentoring relationships at Edgewood. We’ll use various resources and readings to learn how to facilitate constructive dialog, how to give constructive feedback on peer teaching observations,  goal setting, and other related topics.  This group will meet 3-4 times after Spring Break.
