New Library Catalog

Library staff spent the entire summer migrating to a brand new library catalog with fancy, new features.  Come check out a demo of how you can search for books and materials, as well as the other features of our new catalog.  We’ll also share new updates to Oscar Express, our InterLibrary Loan system. Introduction to WOW (Virtual Reality)

It is not just for gaming, but can simulate real spaces taking your students from the Ancient World to the pumping heart. Come experience VR (Virtual Reality) for you and your students.  Bring your smart phone so that you can fully participate.  Google Cardboards will be  provided. (Some assembly is required.) (R. Blackboard Training for New Faculty on Thursday, January 11 beginning at 9:00
am to 11:30 am
Location: Lib P & P
This 2 hour training is designed for Faculty who have been on campus for no more than two semesters. 
Faculty will learn how to set-up a Blackboard course site using content areas, grade center, and interactive tools, and send an email and post announcements to manage a site.
Objectives:  Create content areas with discussion around the types and uses of content areas, folders and Mashups (Flickr, YouTube). Create assessments for assignments (drop box). General set-up the Grade Center.  Discussion of accessible documents and Ally.(D.Deci)

Edgewood College has implemented Ally, a Blackboard add-in that provides to users multiple versions of an uploaded file.  This session will look at how our students find the alternative versions of a file, and how to create accessible documents that benefit the multiple ways our students learn. If you’ve wanted to talk over your course design (active learning activities, organization, assessment, motivating assignment ideas), but haven’t known where to begin, stop in to our Virtual or In-Person instructional design support session.  Rebecca Zambrano will be available to meet with you via WebEx for the virtual session in her WebEx room. Qualtrics:  Foundation
Location: Lib P & P
Qualtrics Research Suite is a web-based survey tool available free for Edgewood College Users. This tool enables users to create their own web-based surveys and conduct statistical analysis. Data may be analyzed online, exported to Microsoft Excel, or imported into a statistical analysis program such as SPSS.
Objectives of the session:  create a Qualtrics survey through hands-on, interactive activies. IRB will provide tips and policies for conducting surveys on EC Users. The primary goal of this workshop is to learn how to produce professional online surveys and obtain customized results with Qualtrics.  Come learn how Qualtrics is truly “Easy enough for an intern, sophisticated enough for a Ph.D.” (P.
