Day of Silence - April 17th, 2019

Hello everyone!

Next Wednesday, April 17th, OSII will participate in GLSEN’s National Day of Silence campaign! It is a campaign to raise awareness surrounding bullying and discrimination of LGTBQ+ community. Participants will remain silent throughout the day and will wear a black ribbon so others know that they will remain silent. If you want to speak throughout the day, you may select a rainbow ribbon to show support. We want YOU and the entire Edgewood Community to participate in this impactful and eventful event of the year!

We will be handing out ribbons at Wingra Commons to participate on Monday, April 15th, 2019 from 10am-2pm and Wednesday, April 17th from 10am-12pm. If you miss the ribbons, you can pick them up at the OSII Front Desk!

At 5pm, we will host “Breaking the Silence” discussion in the East Regina Multipurpose Room. We will break the silence and facilitate an deep, impactful and meaningful conversation about the campaign and its impact on Edgewood. After the discussion, we will host an activity and an open mic so everyone can share their experiences through art, music, poetry, etc! Please tell a friend or two! Be a part of supporting the purpose of the LGTBQ+ rights!
