PCS provides free and confidential mental health counseling. Students are eligible for up

to 10 sessions of individual counseling each academic year. There is no limit on group counseling or urgent care appointments. Common reasons students attend counseling sessions include:

 

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Stress management
  • Family concerns
  • Body image concerns or disordered eating
  • A recent or past traumatic experience
  • Substance abuse
  • Identity exploration
  • Low self-esteem
  • Adjusting to college life

Health Services is staffed by medical professionals who provide health assessments, care for acute illness and injuries, immunizations, health counseling, educational programming and referrals as necessary. Prescription medication may be prescribed if it is clinically indicated. Appointments are available for a small fee or may be covered by your insurance.

 

Rape Crisis Center (RCC)

The RCC is an organization within Dane County that promotes hope, help and healing for those harmed by sexual violence. The RCC’s campus advocate/counselor has an office in the Wellness Center and provides free and confidential support for victims or survivors, as well as those in their support network. The services provided on campus are counseling (individual and group), campus advocacy, legal and medical advocacy.
