"The Blood is at the Doorstep" Documentary and Discussion April 11th DeRicci 313

In honor of their "Highlighting Home" series, on April 11th from 5:30-7:30 in DeRicci 313, the Ethnic Studies Assoc. and Criminal Justice Assoc. are honored to showcase the 2018 Beloit International Film Festival Best Documentary Feature winner and SXSW (South by Southwest) 2017 Grand Jury nominated documentary "The Blood is at the Doorstep." The documentary follows the family of Dontre Hamilton who in 2014 was shot 14 times by a police officer at Red Arrow Park in Milwaukee. The film focuses on the family and their journey for truth, justice and reform as the investigation unfolds. Elements of social justice, police brutality and mental health are present within the documentary and further discussion will be explored after the screening.
