Training Today: Search Chairs & Search Committee Members

Dear Colleagues,

Are you currently serving as a chair of a search for a position opening? Are you regularly tapped as a search committee member? Do you plan to be involved with a search this upcoming academic year? Are you interested in learning more about how bias impacts your work?

If you answered yes (or even maybe) to any of these questions, attend this afternoon's training with Dr. Brian Gittens!

From 1-3p, in the Washburn Heritage Room, the Office of Human Resources will preview the new recruitment process, followed by a 90-minute session specifically designed for search chairs and committee members.

Dr. Brian Gittens, Associate Dean for Human Resources, Equity & Inclusion at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, will lead a session on how bias influences the search process, provide strategies to counter bias, and will discuss some of the common "myths" associated with hiring for diversity in Wisconsin.

This session is open to all faculty and staff.

Thanks!

-Tony
