Counseling and Mental Health Support for Faculty & Staff

The Healthy Campus Coalition would like to remind faculty and staff of the following resources available to support our mental health and overall wellness:

The college's Employee Assistance Program, through Cigna, offers a range of services, including but not limited to free short-term mental health counseling.

Group Health Cooperative, the college's insurance provider, also offers mental health counseling through their behavioral health program. More information can be found here. You can also call the number on the back of your insurance card to inquire about your benefits (e.g., cost of each appointment, how many appointments you're eligible for).

The Family Center offers both short and long-term mental health counseling, a 24-hour crisis support line for clients, and topical groups throughout the year. For more information, please contact 608-663-6154 or visit https://www.thefamilycenter.info/

Finding Calm in the Midst of Great Challenge: A Webinar for the Edgewood College Community

Monday, November 11, 12:00-1:00 pm

Looking for ways to bring ease and counteract stress in the midst of even the most serious life challenges? In this webinar, Lisa Feder, Texas-based teacher of mindfulness and author of A Year of Mindful Wellness, offers guidance and short, simple practices to help you reconnect to being fully present to yourself, to others, to your breath and to the wholeness of life as you move through difficult life stressors. The practices are inspired by her book and by Lisa’s deep desire to support others to feel whole and complete -- just as we are.

This webinar is available online via WebEx. To attend from your own computer or other electronic device, RSVP to Rebecca at rzambrano@edgewood.edu. Or you can attend in person with others -- in the East Regina Multi-Purpose Room. RSVP to Ken at ksyke@edgewood.edu. It’s a brown bag/BYO lunch, but beverages and a snack will be available.

This Edgewood College webinar is sponsored by: Contemplative Campus Group; Edgewood College Collaborative; Human Resources; and Personal Counseling Services.
