Sinsinawa Snapshot: On This Day in History

This day marks the passing of Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli, who established the community of Dominican Sisters in Sinsinawa, the founders of Edgewood College.  In sharing about Mazzuchelli’s final moments, Bill Skowronski writes, “Shortly before he died on February 23, 1864, tears of joy rolled down his cheeks. He explained that he was joyful because he had been on a long, painful journey, separated from family and friends. 'Wouldn’t you be joyful, too (if you were nearing home as I am?),' he explained to his caregiving Dominican Sisters.”
