Ideas for Impact - proposals due October 15

Ideas for Impact Update – call for proposals

The Ideas for Impact initiative was launched in Fall 2017 and got off to a productive start.  Over the course of the 2017-2018 academic year, 35 unique ideas were submitted from nearly every division and school at the College.  Each idea was reviewed carefully and many were approved for funding through the Annual Trustees Opportunities Fund, the Ideas for Impact Fund, or were vetted for funding through another source.  And it’s important to note that many of the ideas have built on existing revenue generation ideas that have been suggested previously!

You are invited to submit a proposal by October 15 to be considered during the next official review period.

As you recall, this initiative is intended identify new ideas that have the potential to generate new or increased revenue for the College. A short form has been designed to help idea champions introduce the idea to members of campus leadership.  The proposal should be relatively brief but include enough information for a review committee to assess viability.

To offer some examples, here are some of the projects that were funded through an initial application to Ideas for Impact:

  • E-Sports competitive gaming team
  • Pre-College Program through Cutting Edge
  • Upper-class housing marketing initiative
  • “Eagle Families” Program for parents of current students
  • Fabrication Lab in Sonderegger
  • Net Partner software in Edgewood Central
  • Suicide prevention screening program
  • New student recruitment in AZ, CO, OR, and WA

Questions may be directed to Christine Benedict (cbenedict@edgewood.edu), Dean Pribbenow (dpribbenow@edgewood.edu) or Michael Guns (mguns@edgewood.edu).
