Career Development Drop-In Hours

Career Development Drop-In Hours: Handshake, the Inclusive Internship Project…and more!

Wednesday, February 19th 8am-10am,  Library, Room L1

Come meet with Career Development staff Sara Hanson, Laura Bennett and Richelle Kasten to answer any questions and discuss ways we can partner to support students!

Have you heard of Handshake? Faculty and staff can also create an account. Come get some quick tips on how to navigate the site and what resources are available to assist with supporting students. With this online career management platform, students can see upcoming events, access a resources library, schedule appointments, upload resumes for review, search for internships and jobs, and much more! Faculty can also partner with Career Development in utilizing Experience workflow in Handshake for internship assessment.

As we know, enriched learning experiences (such as internships) play a critical role in students’ personal and professional development, but unpaid internships may create financial barriers for our students. We believe these experiences should be accessible to all students. Come learn about the Inclusive Internship Project, where students receive up to a $2,500 stipend in an internship that might otherwise be unpaid. Through this gift, we support students who are positively contributing to our community while gaining valuable experience and building community partnership.

Individual or departmental meetings are also available. Please contact Sara Hanson at sarahanson@edgewood.edu to set a time.
