FREE yoga class for faculty and staff

I’m very pleased to announce that Edgewood is sponsoring a free yoga class for employees this semester!  It will be offered every Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in the new Regina East Multi-Purpose room at the Monroe Street campus.   Mats, blocks, two showers and plenty of lockers are available.  Just bring yourself, your own yoga mat if you prefer, and wear loose comfortable clothing.  This class is appropriate for beginners and those with more experience.

The class is taught by Kelly Scholz and is a 60 minute flow-style class that focuses on proper alignment, breath connection, and mindfulness.  Foundational poses are combined with regulated breath and performed in an accessible manner.  This class is designed to promote stress relief, increased energy, and muscle stretching and strengthening.

Starts next Tuesday, September 6.  I hope to see you all there!

As a registered nurse and sports enthusiast, I know the importance of nurturing the body from the inside out. While training for and completing three Ironman races, I found yoga helped my body and mind recover from the long training and racing hours. I continue to participate in triathlons and train at the gym. Yoga has enhanced my physical performance in sports by strengthening both my mind and body. I am passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga, so I became a 200 hour certified Yoga Teacher through 21st Century Yoga on the Mat with Alex Pfeiffer at The Studio. The goal of my class is to provide a journey that leaves students feeling energized and refreshed when they step off their mat.
