A Fiction Reading with Marcela Fuentes and Dantiel Moniz, Mon. Nov. 20th 6pm

The first of two amazing readings this semester by three great young writers will be next Monday, 11/20! It is guaranteed to start your heart on fire, which, in this case, and pretty much this case only, is a GOOD thing.

The Edgewood English Department is proud to present a fiction reading with UW-Madison MFA candidate Dantiel Moniz and former UW-Madison Fiction Fellow Marcela Fuentes, who will read from their work beginning at 6pm in 329 Predolin (the English Dept.).

Dantiel W. Moniz is a homegrown Floridian and MFA candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her work has recently appeared or is forthcoming in Tin House, Apogee Journal, and elsewhere. She has received scholarships and residencies from Hedgebrook and the Whiting Foundation, and was selected as the winner of the 2018 Cecelia Joyce Johnson emerging writer award by the Key West Literary Seminars.

Marcela Fuentes was the 2016-2017 James C. McCreight Fiction Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing. She has an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and Ph.D. from Georgia State University, where she was the Virginia Spencer Carr Fellow in Fiction.  Her stories have appeared in the Indiana Review, The Stoneslide Corrective, Vestal Review, and Juked, among others, and anthologized in Flash Fiction International (W.W. Norton), Best of the Web (Dzanc Books), and New Stories from the Southwest (U Ohio/Swallow Press). A native of south Texas, she is at work on her first novel.

Please feel free to pass this on to any students, professors, or friends you think would be interested in attending.
