2015 “Reflections for the Season of Advent”

As the days grow shorter and colder throughout December, Christians await the promised Light of the World, whose birth we celebrate at Christmas. For centuries, the Church has set aside the four weeks before Christmas as “Advent” time—a season of expectant waiting. For contemporary American culture, Advent’s reflective, hopeful mood can easily get overshadowed by the holiday season’s relentless details and events.

Dominican Life and Mission invites you to pause during this busy season, with this annual collection of reflections contributed by members of the Edgewood community. Booklets will be available in St. Joseph Chapel, on the Dominican Life bulletin board on DeRicci 2nd floor (next to Admissions), as well as on other bulletin boards around campus. Reflections will also be available online via the College home page at http://www.edgewood.edu

We hope you will find these reflections an oasis in the midst of the season’s activities and a source of grounding and inspiration as you prepare for Christmas.
